For families
A visit to the textile factory is a treat for the whole family.
How do the threads get into the loom? How did an office function without a telephone and computer? A visit to our lively museum promises a lot of surprising insights, especially for young people.
"Are you a mover?". In the exhibition on textile entrepreneurs and their strategies, young visitors can use an app to answer this question with the help of adults. They have to make appropriate decisions and in doing so, will discover a lot of surprising things. In the weaving mill, young and older visitors slip into the roles of men and women in a textile factory. At media terminals they can enter into a dialogue with the respective experts. In a playful way, they will learn more about work in the past, and experience some amazing things in their interaction with a stoker and bobbin winder.
On one Sunday a month the family tour "Looking, Marvelling, Feeling" offers (grand-)parents and children a playful and entertaining journey through the different themes dealt with in the textile factory. Every guided tour has a different motto - be it the steam engine, pattern book or workers' house – and participation is welcome. The dates can be found on the events page.
Our museum restaurant "Schiffchen" is perfect for family visits. Under the heading "Hits for Kids" there is a selection of meals and snacks for the kids at moderate prices. Those who prefer to eat their own food will find suitable spots for a picnic on the museum courtyard.
